Aches and pains knocked on my door
And stayed an hour yesterday
Like every uninvited guest
They demanded their own way
Just as I wondered what was next
They tired of their game
And slipped out then down the street
Leaving quiet here again
So, I begged God "Please lock my door
Before they come to stay!"
But He answered only "Robins sing
Even through the days of rain."
But I am afflicted and in pain;
let your salvation, O God, set me on high!
I will praise the name of God with a song;
I will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Amen, brother! Rainy days are bound to come, but God is good!
Maybe because I have worked outdoors through so many of them, I can identify with my feathered friends.
