Daffodil Show!

Daffodil Time

Sweet gentle Daffodils are here again for their brief visit. How I wish they could stay longer but they put on such a show for us with the colors and smells of Springtime!

Oh, that we might know the Lord!
Let us press on to know him.
He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn
or the coming of rains in early spring.” Hosea 6:3

Kids – Dogs and Learning to be Patient!

Kids - Dogs and Learning to be Patient!

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast , but do not have love, I gain nothing, Love is patient… 1 Corinthians 13:3-4a

There’s just something about walking small grandchildren with an even smaller dog that I love. I wasn’t patient enough as a father to enjoy these moments but grandfathering has slowed me down enough to catch these blessings as they pass in the breeze.

My Father’s Heritage

Mt Father's Heritage

Four years ago I was boarding a plane for Florida to spend the last week of my Dad’s life at his side. For the first fifteen years of my life we saw each other only twice that I remember so they were like the lost years for us. But what we lost at the beginning, God multiplied to us with wonderful long years at the end. God blessed my Dad with health, an independent spirit and a chance to hold not only his grandchildren, but also his great-grandchildren. Though four years have passed since Dad walked through heaven’s door his legacy remains. His faithfulness, gentleness, cheerfulness and grace are the heritage he has left behind. A family is like an unfinished project that we each have our chance to work on then pass to the next generation. We can each keep that project going with prayer, struggles forgiveness and love. My Dad got a late start on that project but he had a great finish. See you later Dad at the throne of Jesus!

A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs 13:2

Promise of the Father

Promise of the Father

On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about Acts 1:4

Spring is about new hope and promises. Our greatest hope is the promise of God.

Reflections and Flowers

Reflections and Flowers

Sometimes our quiet place is in the pause between hurried moments, nestled between flowers and reflections. God leads us there to think again, turn around and follow Him!

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. Isaiah 30:15
