The God of All Hope

Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31

There are chapters we pass through in our lives when we doubt and our faith is small. We is hard to remember that it was Jesus who told us to get in the boat and go to the other shore. but He seems distant now and the sea is against us. We thought we knew His voice so well, but when He came walking out on the waters to us we did not recognize Him. We began to hope again when we finally dared to get out of our boat and began to walk towards Him over the waves. Then we realized how impossible our mission was and found ourselves sinking beneath the surface, till He caught us with His hand. Then in that moment hope rushed in again and took its place on the throne of our faith!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope Romans 15:13

So wherever you are in your great voyage on the high seas of your faith; remember that He is the God of Hope. No matter at whatever latitude and longitude we find ourselves, He will come, He will extend His hand, and He will save! Our confidence in Him can give us back all joy and peace just as the angel gave to Paul when He visited him in the storm. Paul had all hope when everyone else despaired to ever come safely home again!

Worship as God defines it

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  Colossians 3:16

I have thought over and over today about that word of Christ dwelling richly. I saw that It doesn’t say “Let the Rich Word” dwell in you. No, God is knocking and asking that His simple, plain, and unmixed word would have access to all my resources. That is how God defines worship. Does He have complete access to all of my resources: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually? Image

Or in another way of seeing the picture: Am I am opening up to God the unlimited horizons of all that is in me? Can He look to the East, to the West, to the North and to the South, as far as His eye can see, and know that it all belongs to Him?
