Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me. Matthew 19:21

Florida trip 072

Our day will be changed if we begin to be thankful for some of those treasures. Here is my own personal thanksgiving list  Please feel free to add to my list as it is in no way complete!

Eternal life – forgiveness of sin – Acceptance and adoption by the Father –  – My name written in the Book of Life – God Himself wiping every tear from my eyes – Eating the fruit from the Tree of Life – Seeing Jesus face to face – Embracing my Dad, my friends, William, Quina, Rick , Pastor Joe and many more who are there waiting on the other shore – Drinking from the Crystal River – Hearing His Voice – Worshiping Him forever!

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! Psalm 100:4

Unchanging Grace

When darkness veils His lovely face I rest on His unchanging grace…  Edward Mote

When storm clouds threaten to swallow whole the blue skies of our hopes and dreams we are being given an opportunity to experience God’s grace. When sorrow seems ready to choke out all the joy from our hearts and we feel the tears knocking at our door, then God alone becomes our all. He is the one who rides on those very clouds to come near to us.

He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind Psalm 104:3

Wings of the Wind

You lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind. Psalm 104:3

Almost effortless in flight, the hawk circles looking down over all of his kingdom looking for the slightest movement that means his lunch. But God, who is also watching over and concerned with even the tiniest detail of our lives is not looking to pounce on our weakness. He is an ever present help in our time of trouble and will cover us with His wings!
