Lifting Up Our Eyes

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

Sometimes our lives are tossed here and there by forces and circumstances entirely beyond our control. Like the disciples on Galilee’s waters we are rowing as hard as we can, but we feel alone on the waters. Then He comes at a time and in a way for which we are unprepared. He is coming to us walking over the waves of our life. He is calling out, “It’s me… don’t be afraid!”. What a joy to lay down our oars and rest! As soon as Jesus is in our boat again we will be exactly where He wants us to be…

Songs of Deliverance

Psalms 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

As we pray and seek God’s face he opens the door into his presence. This is the invisible but very real Holy place of our Father. Our Father brings us in and covers us with there his wings. There we find not just the answers for the situations and needs that relentlessly pursue us, but also the place of total safety and quiet from the storm. There we hide fearlessly amazed in the presence of our Heavenly Father. This is the secret place where Jesus placed his blood on the altar 2000 years ago so we could enter today. His voice is always singing to hearts that have become humble and quiet in His presence. The words are around us like a river flows around an island. Come listen to His song and be hidden in Him forever!
