Choosing a Destination

My GPS has a curious insistence that I set my destination before I begin driving my car. In the same way it matters to God that we ask Him to direct our path early each morning. We might have felt very close to God in church Sunday morning but the distance between praising and complaining is not as great as we think. To keep from making that journey we need to ask God to reset our spiritual GPS before we begin each day. Our words are steps along a pathway. If we truly want to walk with tour Savior it helps to remember that Jesus is listening to every word we say!

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord , my strength and my Redeemer. Psalms 19:14

Weakness of God

“the cross cannot be merely taught or reasoned. It must be experienced” Joni Eareckson Tada

There is nothing desirable about weakness especially mental weakness. There are no prizes for not knowing the answers or being lost. I still remember my stepfather’s reasoning about asking directions. “It is pointless because they are only going to tell you to turn around and go the other way!”

But God not only loves times when in our frustration fear and weakness we humbly come home to Him. He isn’t waiting to say , “Aha! I told you so!” God instead comes quietly alongside and shows us His hands and feet as a loving reminder that He too was weak … And through weakness He became strong!
