My Life is Just a Seed

My life is just a seed that He planted in my heart
By Lord Jesus who my every thought has known
And He paid the price by blood to claim me as His own
In the mystery of a love before the start

And it has grown in days of rain and through the times of drought
While busy years of youth passed in a whirl
And everything was changing in my world
The words of Christ stood firm against the doubt 

Now it’s time of autumn leaves with harvest near
And He’s coming soon to gather children home
Forever to the place near Heaven’s throne  
Where my seed will in His hand rest without fear 

As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”
Matthew 13;23 ESV

Contentment

Hilltops show miles of blessings
But content in the valley is learned
As in darkness our God lights a candle
And our steps to His pathway are turned

Not all His messages have yet been delivered
As for now He leaves some things unsaid
And the time may not be today my dear friend
For all of His mail to be read

But one day we’ll receive all that He promised
Though today is our battle with fears
In the presence of Jesus it will be forgotten
As He kneels to dry all of our tears

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for 
I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 
Philippians 4:11 ESV

By the Peace That Christ Supplies

 Peace beyond my understanding
And the things I do not know
His peace now guards my mind and heart
When I glimpse Heaven from here below

At Nazareth it came to Mary
To Bethlehem’s shepherds while asleep
And at the cross to thieves and soldiers
A peace that only Heaven keeps

And here in unexpected moments
When thunder and the lightning flies
Our Great Father shows His mercy
By the peace that Christ supplies


And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, 
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
