The World Stood Still

He walked on water
Gave life to the dead
And fed five thousand
With five loaves of bread
But on the Cross
At His Father’s will
Jesus gave His life
While the world stood still

While the soldiers gambled
For the clothes He wore
His disciples trembled
Behind locked doors
But by His side
One thief believed
And Mary wept
As He struggled to breath
And the thunder roared
And the darkness fell
Then He cried “Forgive!”
And the world stood still

The Cardinal’s Visit

Sir Cardinal came to visit
In his red coat and his hat
And soon began to sing and dance
As in our tree he sat

And while I listened to his tune
His Lady flitted down
She had come to join him dressed
In quiet grayish brown

Then with her song reminding him
Of nest and eggs and young
And how his heart must turn to home
Before his day was done!

and with all our mind and with all your strength.

We Love the Lord with all our hearts
Where worries come with fears
And Love Him more with all our minds
When grief walks in with tears
Then love Him still with all our strength 
If weariness surrounds
For in Jesus we can rest
Where His real peace is found

And when in Christ our life is lost
Our soul lifts up and sings
To Him who offers joyful rest
In the shadow of His wings!
