Coming As We Are

This is the video version of my post from yesterday where I shared about my dad’s beauty shop. I do the video because once a week I prepare a devotional newsletter which I send in to two different nursing homes where I once visited and this video gives them some music to go along with their lesson. The newsletter version is usually shorter than what I post here because it all has to fit on one page in print large enough for my dear friends to read. I pray that you will also be blessed as I share a few songs along with the thought for the week. “Come to Jesus; just as you are” He is calling and waiting for you.

Here in the Tampa Bay area it is “Florida cold” but our family up North is having tons of fun shoveling white stuff which we don’t miss a bit! Have a blessed Tuesday wherever you are!

God Chose You — David’s Daily Dose

I don’t do a lot of re-posting but with David’s permission I wanted to share this excellent post about God’s choosing us for His team. So many of us can identify with the way David says that God includes us all – just in different ways as long as our heart is on His team. I am also adding a very special rendition of Just As I Am by the Mullett Family. I hope you all have a blessed Sunday and enjoy both of these reminders of God’s amazing love and great grace!

God Shines His Light

For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV

When God shines on the outside He gives us His hope, but when He shines on the inside He gives us His challenge to live with the love of Jesus towards others. I shared a part of this earlier this week in a devotional, about how light can reveal some very unpleasant things – (Like big ugly bugs!)

This time around I take a slightly different look in the video. for this week. Also included are the songs – He Keeps Me Singing, Do Lord Oh Do Remember Me and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (One of my favorites). My prayer is that we can all stay so focused on Jesus that He will begin replacing some of our, not so pretty selfish motivations with His servant’s heart of love today!
