For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV
When God shines on the outside He gives us His hope, but when He shines on the inside He gives us His challenge to live with the love of Jesus towards others. I shared a part of this earlier this week in a devotional, about how light can reveal some very unpleasant things – (Like big ugly bugs!)

This time around I take a slightly different look in the video. for this week. Also included are the songs – He Keeps Me Singing, Do Lord Oh Do Remember Me and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (One of my favorites). My prayer is that we can all stay so focused on Jesus that He will begin replacing some of our, not so pretty selfish motivations with His servant’s heart of love today!
Amen. I pray that we will keep our eyes focused on Jesus in spite of the storms around us.
Thank you Pastor Pete! Your words, “When God shines on the outside He gives us His hope, but when He shines on the inside He gives us His challenge to live with the love of Jesus towards others” are the perfect accompaniment to the verse I’ve been chewing on these past few days “You O Lord keep my lamp burning my God turns my darkness into light” (Psalm 18: 28). Thank you also for starting my day with a song I haven’t heard in a very long time- “Do Lord, Oh Do Lord, Do Remember me.”
Thanks Beth. God does seem to major in shining His light in the most unlikely places. I guess you might call that grace.
