Jesus Hungered Yet He fed

And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. Matthew 4:2 ESV

Jesus hungered yet he fed
Five thousand with five loaves of bread
He thirsted but He promised all
Living streams for those who call
Yes - Jesus walked and Jesus wept
Jesus rested and He slept
Till His suffering on the cross
Where He paid sin’s awful cost
Now He’s gone to Father’s home
To make a place where we may come
There in Heaven He waits for them
Who by faith will follow Him
And will serve in love till He
Returns so with Him we will be.

He Goes With Them

How do the birds know when to gather?
Who sets the alarm that they hear?
Why do they prepare when the wind still blows warm
To fly away year after year?

Who guides their course in the evening
And tells them the time that is best
How can they know that the place that is waiting
Has food and protection and rest?

Their designer who fashioned each feather
And has given a voice for their song
He watches them all
Even sees when one falls
And goes with them
On their journey so long

The Storm is Passing By

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.
 Psalm 57:1 ESV

In the treetop Hawk sits silently
While the thunder crashes round
And the Sparrows flit into the barn
Where the Chickens huddle down

The Cranes stand in the rushes
In her house the Blue Bird sleeps
While the Chickadees are twittering
In the thickets dark and deep

But Eagles fly up to their nests
When their children cry
And shelter them with wings so strong
While raindrops start to fly

Can you and I do less than birds
Who know the place to hide
And fly to God our refuge
When the storm is passing by
