Hands Wide Open

His hands wide open
Stretched to hold
Kind Joseph’s calloused palm
Then reached to grasp sweet Mary’s hair
That was gently hanging down

Hands that multiplied five loaves
Held a child in their embrace
Lifted a man to walk again
Then touched a leper’s face

Hands that shared the wine and bread
And washed our dirty feet
Were nailed wide open on the Cross
Their work for us complete

To The End of the Line

When our eyes first open and the sun peeks in
We can thank the Lord as our day begins
Or when storms close in with darkening skies
And we run for shelter to our dear Lord's side

When we've run the race as far as we can
He renews our strength as we pray to Him
In brightest day and darkest night
In every victory - through every fight
When we stand up strong or when we fall down
If we'll pray to the end He has promised a crown

For it's not by wisdom that our battle’s won
Nor by our strength that the race is run
For He gives when we ask
When we seek - We will find
If we pray and not faint
To the end of the line!

And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.
Luke 18:1 ESV

Knit Together

Before we saw our first sunrise
Or took one breath of air
Before our first cry
Or we opened our eyes
God knew that we were there

While He knit us together
He was choosing our name
While He fashioned our hands and feet

Then He wrote down our story
In His book of life
As our tiny heart started to beat!

For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13 ESV
