So I called one of the nursing homes that I used to visit and asked if I could bring flowers. They said no flowers unless directly from the florist (expensive!) but how about a parade? I was so amazed to see well over a hundred cars show up. People are just longing to find ways to express love and appreciation for those in long term care. I will remember this day for a long time!

Mother’s Day Hymns
This will be a Mother’s Day unlike any other at Nursing Homes around the nation. No special family visits, no taking mom out to eat or even bringing her flowers. In our community we will be able to do a drive by parade (Thank God the weather is nice). We will have signs to wave and we’ll honk our horns to honor all those moms now in isolation for almost two months. Here is a short video I made this week to send into the various homes where I used to be able to visit. God bless all of you moms out there. This is your special day!
Caregiver Devotional – New Edition
First a little background on me might help in that I have spent over the last twenty-five years ministering every week in six different long term care facilities. I learned that it was not only the residents but also their families and loved ones who struggled to understand how to make it through day by day. So originally I wrote this short devotional book to come alongside and let them know that they were not alone and that God had not forgotten about them.

Then when the Corona virus crisis intensified, I went back to the manuscript and have added more readings specific to the new reality as well as a new introduction. If you are a caregiver yourself or know someone who needs a gentle reminder of God’s grace and hope this book may be just for you. It is also available in large print. You could either click through on the link or find it for yourself on Amazon.
