My memories feel like balls of yarn
Which from a basket spill
And then I watch my threads of life
Go tumbling down the hill!
So lately I have been wondering
How to catch those memories
And knit their jumbled tumbled mess
Into the things I please
But then my Lord reminds me
In whose hands my life is held
That through each tangled strand and stitch
He will His story tell
I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well.

Well done, Pastor Pete. Amen. Our lives narrate the story of God’s work, not our own. Each of our lives, like a ball of yarn 🧶, unravels closer to its completion day by day, but our treasure in heaven and the impact God has made through us on earth endures.
Amen, Dave and thanks for the encouraging words. This might be a nice verse which you could write some music for.
From the knitting within our mother’s womb to the finished and eternal work, you’ve captured God’s love that produces everlasting joy. Thanks, Pastor Pete!
Thanks for reading. This is a poem that I wrote a few years ago but revisited and revised it with some thoughts that had been stirring in my heart. Have a wonderful week.
What a beautiful picture of God’s handiwork as He stitches our lives together for His glory!
