Everyone I have met thinks that memory care ministry is a great thing to do, but very few are willing to stay involved for long. They enthusiastically come for a few sessions, and just about the time that the residents start to get to know them they give up. Am I saying that these folks are bad people? As I read, I couldn’t help but think that many things you listed I’ve experienced in the last decade plus of serving in early childhood ministries only you’re walking through the last years with your precious residents and I’m walking through the first years with my sweet kiddos. Jesus always shows up at the center of it all (interruptions, messes, revolving door of helpers) with His love and faithfulness.
