I’m not a very good waiter
I just hate to be standing around!
But I’ve learned that the times when I wait on the Lord
That in Him joy and strength can be found

But when I complain that it's going too slow
Then He waits for me to quiet down
For Jesus gives His grace to the meek
With His promise of life that abounds

Then after all has been said in my day
When I finally trust He knows best
He comes and He carries me on eagle’s wings
To His mountain where eagles can rest!

1. I love that verse. I have the translation that says, “They that wait on the Lord … ” I love that one, because “wait on” can mean wait (doing nothing) or wait ON, as a waiter does in a restaurant – to serve. When my ADD mind gets tired of waiting for God’s answer to my prayers, serving Him is a great thing to do while I’m waiting. 😉

   • Absolutely! I have my own form of ADD which I have called, Adult Doesn’t Pay Attention Syndrome. It’s kind of funny with people…but not at all with God. I too often miss what He is saying because I am not paying attention while I run off in three directions at once!

   • Thanks Patty. I have had love-hate relationship with waiting. I am so glad that God loves me patiently all the time and has given me ample opportunity to retake His waiting tests!

   • I love it too but I must confess that it is not mine. I have lots of nice garden photos because the flowers stay still, but eagles…not so much!

     • It is one of the free photos from pexels I got a while back. If you look closely it might say whose it originally was. I have lots of shots of our low flying large Florida birds. They are beautiful and I use them sometimes. But eagles, hummingbirds and butterflies I leave to the pros.
