Yesterday I was so blessed to sing at the Sunshine Christian Home memory care wing. They are my favorite singers and every week my friend Diane, asks for her most loved hymn “Love Lifted Me” This week when we started singing I thought of how my grandmother always forgave me when I was in trouble and I I shared one special story of forgiveness which is called, “The Crystal Lamp! I hope this song will lift you up and encourage you to know that Jesus has promised to always forgive, If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
My wife and I were just talking yesterday about how some children can only be reached through unconditional love. Many of them get yelled at and put down, some even worse, but God’s brand of love isn’t something they see every day—except from us.
I enjoyed your take on this classic hymn. You use a variety of chords and a cool strumming pattern. The face mask hanging from your guitar headstock was the icing on the 🎂 cake. 😉 Well done!
Thanks Dave. Yes, unconditional love and sharing those memories connects with my friends who almost everyone has written off. They hear, they respond, and I share these videos in hopes that others will hear God’s call to go and give it a try themselves.
Your grandmother and the crystal lamp is a touching story of forgiveness, Pastor Pete. I hope it will somehow find its way into poetic form (if it hasn’t done so already).
Thanks Beth. I always appreciate your input. I try to never say never to a new idea. Blessings
