Always Pray

Always Pray and Never Faint

When our eyes first open and the sun peeks ikimg2456n

We can thank the Lord as our day begins

Or when storms close in with darkening skies

And we run for shelter to our dear Lord’s side

kimg1384When the corn is ripe or when the fields look dead

We can still thank God for our daily bread

When we’ve sinned and feel the guilt and shame

He forgives us if we ask in His holy name

When we’ve run the race as far as we can

He renews our strength when we pray to Him

In every day and through every night

In every victory and through every fight

When we stand up strong or when we fall down

If we’ll pray to the end He has promised a crownp1010267

It’s not by our wisdom that this battle’s won

Not by our own strength that the race can be run

He gives when we ask He that seeks surely finds

When we pray and don’t faint to the end of the line!

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint             Luke 18:1

My wife and I serve as members of a worship team at a multicultural church. Our members are from Brazil, Nepal and the U.S.. Because of the many languages and cultures in our local body we face unique challenges, such as how many songs will we do in English today? What new songs can we use in either language that are simple enough for the people to sing. The songs, the devotions and insights here are a small portion of some of the ways God is leading us as we push towards the goal. I pray that these will be both a blessing and an encouragement for those of you who may pass by Praise 2 Worship.

  1. I am dedicating today’s poem to our special prayer service tonight for our sister Maria. Maria has been battling stage 4 cancer for over a year and 23 chemo treatments. She has outlived her prognosis and is trusting that God is the one who will number her days. It would be a blessing if anyone would join us in prayer. Thanks so much!

  2. Pastor Pete, I surely enjoyed your poem and post! Yes, I’ve given up being “faint’ with all that is currently going on, and have continued to pray, “Your will be done.” For this I know, the Government rest upon His shoulders and they are big enough to carry the weight of my prayers and tears too. Blessings friend! Prayers for your friend too:)
