Two Men and Two Boats

Two Men in Two Boats

To the sea one day two men went down

Paul as a prisoner and Jonah skipping town

“I’m out of here!” was all Jonah could say

Then he slept through the storm when he should have prayed

But prisoner Paul cried to God in his boat

Till an angel came down with a message of hope

Then with determination he encouraged his friends

Saying Jesus would keep them all safe in the end

It took a big fish to get Jonah to go

Tell others of mercy and God’s love for the world

But our friend Saint Paul shows us the right way

That if God sends the storm we must trust and obey!

Seven Loaves

The 7 Loaves of the Bread of Life

He took the seven loaves and the fish and having given thanks He broke them and gave them to the disciples and the disciples gave them to the crowds. Matthew 15:36 ESV

The Monday loaf was when angels sang

And shepherds knelt and the Heavens rang

On Tuesday Mary dedicated her son

At the temple then trusted His will to be done

At the Jordan On Wednesday Jesus was baptized

And the dove descended onto the bread of life

Thursday’s loaf was when He broke the bread

And He blessed the cup and He bowed His head

On Friday His body was given for us

And His blood poured down that old rugged cross

Saturday’s silence was a bread of sorrows

As He lay in the tomb waiting for tomorrow

Then on Sunday’s rising came the Living Bread

For all who believe Jesus rose from the dead!

Safely Through the Storm

I loved the sounds of rain

Small drops sliding down the glass

With the branches flying wild

And the splash as people passed

Dreary days meant mugs of soup

And my mother’s sheltering arms

Tiny glimpses from my childhood

At a table safe and warm

Now the memory reminds me

Of another suppertime

When our Master gave the bread

And blessed a cup filled with new wine

How they sang a song together

About God’s mercy flowing free

Then He safely brought us home

Through the storms of Calvary
