The Doorway

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
John 10:9 ESV

The first door I remember
My mom opened up for me
And there I ate the things she cooked
And learned my A-B-C’s

Me and mom 1952
The next lead to a classroom
With a teacher waiting there
It was exciting meeting other kids
Though they whispered and they stared

Past the third door was my family
And we journeyed through the years
As all of us grew older
We shared struggles, joys and tears
So now there is just one more door
But it I will not fear
Because under it shines a light
And songs of angels sounding near

And God knows that we are wondering
When we must His schedule keep
But we can trust our Shepherd’s time
 For every blood bought sheep!

And For the Road Ahead

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.
Psalm 143:8 ESV
Our God who lit the sun on fire
Who stirs the wrath of hurricanes
Also made the joyful child
Eager to see dawn’s flames

For When our hearts feel cold and dead
In joy our God prepared
A day when stones roll back from tombs
And for the road ahead

To Show the World Our Christ

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27

Sometimes you just might stop to ask
What God wants you to do
How to fulfill some worthwhile task
 By simply being you

Well the Bible makes it clear
That God made us each unique
Just like eyes and nose appear
To be quite different than feet

And all in God’s loving design
By simple faith and humble life
Our ordinary tasks combine
To show the world our Christ!
