Where are you going?

Today is our big moving day however unlike Abraham we do know where we are going. We are truly thankful for all the help of our brothers and sisters who have helped us be ready for this time. We are launching out in faith a lot like Abraham and though we do know where we are going we have no idea clearly of what God has for us there. We do sense He is calling and today we will take our first few steps on that journey. Maybe we should all pause more often to ask ourselves the question: where am I going today? And our faith can answer – God knows the destination!

y faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

Loving the Unseen God

In John’s gospel He begins with the astonishing statement, In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.

The same God who created light chooses to love us from a hidden darkness through which we can only see by faith. Because we cannot see our Heavenly Father we are pressed deeper each day into an absolute dependence on His word. How I wish some days that I could sit around the campfire with Jesus and ask Him questions and share with Him my longings and fears. But He simply smiles from His secret place even as I write these words and waits for my heart to still. Then in that silence comes springing from a place known only to God that joy no words can tell. Joy unspeakable and full of glory!

Goodbye Green Hills

The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs. Psalms 114:4

It is impossible to imagine not waking up to see our quiet green mountains. Clearly the same God who stooped down to fashion the hills and mountain steams also drew the edge of the sea. He that traced out the deep valley also marked with sand and rock the place for the tide to wash over. And the Savior who watched with us through nights when our children tossed and turned is still watching. He sees down the road lights the way ahead and gives us strength for our journey!
