Before We Had Faces

Before we had faces
And we had no voice at all
When no one else could see us
And we were small – small – small

God pulled out the plans He’d made
And Laid them out to see
And then traced out the pattern
He would use for you and me

First He penciled in some happy days
To balance days of grief
And over all he poured His grace
To help our unbelief

Then He stamped His image on our hearts
And He signed the bottom line
So we would be delivered
At exactly His own time!

Before Your First Sunrise

Before you saw your first sunrise
Or took that first breath of air
Before your first cry or you opened your eyes
God knew that you were there

While He knit you together God chose your name
As He fashioned your hands and feet
And He wrote your story in His book of life
As your tiny heart started to beat

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
Psalm 139:13-16 NLT
