No More a Dim Reflection

Loving those God who gives us
With both arms open wide
We catch a glimpse in them of Him
Who waits the other side

For now we know so little of
What Heaven will be like
Or those He greatly treasures
And what is precious in His sight

But then – Yes then! We’ll fully know
The One we see in part
No more a dim reflection then
For there we’ll see His heart!

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

How Can I Get Started in Nursing Home Ministry?

I hate being repetitive in my posts on nursing home ministry, but I keep getting asked these same questions. So, this week I thought an updated post on the subject was in order. But as a proud Poppy, I also hope you all like our granddaughter in this week’s video!

Before beginning any type of service, no matter how noble or needed we must be sure that this is where God has called us. Long Term Care ministry is no different. While everyone is welcome to come and sing…

Unashamedly Pro-Life

I wrote the original post for this a few years ago, but with the recent favorable Supreme Court decision shaking the political landscape, I thought it was worth a second look. We begin with quite a different value system than the world around us, because we believe that life has value, because it is the gift of God. Every life matters. Every mentally disadvantaged child, physically disabled adult, or Alzheimer’s resident in a nursing home is precious to Jesus. Though debating the value of these lives may not change our neighbor’s mind, we must never be ashamed to stand with Jesus. On the contrary we must lovingly stand our ground, while still loving those who…
