The Pigeons Were Still Snoozing

The pigeons were still snoozing
While the hawk dozed on his perch
And bluebirds were just waking
When woodpecker went to work!

And his tapping is reminding me
I have a job to do
So just sitting round and wishing
Is not what God has planned to do

For even though He gives me songs
And resting is just fine
He has much more for us in store
For us in Summertime

In the garden we have seeds to plant
With rows to weed and tend
And water with our tears and prayers
Till He brings His harvest in!

Those who sow in tears
shall reap with shouts of joy!
Psalms 126:5 ESV

God The Master Artist

God the Master Artist
Who makes us like Himself
Hands us our own paint brush
And a canvas from His shelf

Then selects for each a palette
With the colors He does choose
Not just the brilliant ones we like
But also darker hues

And as each day we start to paint
Our Christ and Lord draws near
To guide our strokes with His own hand
Until His face appears!

My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.
Galatians 4:19 NKJV

Eyes

To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17 ESV

Eyes were made to see
Since the moment of creation
Watching dust specks in the sun
Spinning wildly with elation

Each sunrise with its colors
The wave tops as they break
And the smiles on lips of mothers
And the raindrops on the lake

He gave them light and focus
And His word to show them how
Our great unseen Creator
Is walking with us now
