More About Jesus

Through a season of major technical difficulties (My new computer is somewhere in Kentucky getting fixed) I have been struggling through producing new video of our outreach and hymns, but today I was able to upload a fairly rough version of one of our songs from Sunshine Christian Village. What a blessing to have been given the chance to meet indoors for the first time in a year. Please be praying that as we all get vaccinated that the main facility will also open as well as the outreach to two other nursing homes we used to visit. God bless everyone and have a wonderful day as you also seek more about Jesus for your life.

Coming As We Are

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

This is the video version of my post from yesterday where I shared about my dad’s beauty shop. I do the video because once a week I prepare a devotional newsletter which I send in to two different nursing homes where I once visited and this video gives them some music to go along with their lesson. The newsletter version is usually shorter than what I post here because it all has to fit on one page in print large enough for my dear friends to read. I pray that you will also be blessed as I share a few songs along with the thought for the week. “Come to Jesus; just as you are” He is calling and waiting for you.

Here in the Tampa Bay area it is “Florida cold” but our family up North is having tons of fun shoveling white stuff which we don’t miss a bit! Have a blessed Tuesday wherever you are!

Our 2020 Christmas Village

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7

No room at the inn when Jesus was born and in 2020 there will be no visitors in the no nursing home. No place for our Savior’s birth, so how appropriate it was because of the virus to have our Christmas service outdoors at the fountain at Sunshine Christian Village. Just to be clear, these were not the residents of the long term care facility, but rather of the surrounding senior apartments. It was actually a beautiful day (We prayed for no rain) and a safe way to sing some carols; hear the story of Christmas again and pray for one another. Of course we are all happy to hear about the vaccine but as we wait we must still live in today and do what we can to lift up the name of Jesus. I hope you will be encouraged and blessed to find ways to reach out to the long term care facilities in your own community. We are still praying that we can have them open the doors next week on the porch so we could stand outside and sing while they are inside listening.
