Easter Adventure

When Daniel goes to Jerusalem with his family he finds himself in the middle of a crowd shouting the praises of a young rabbi riding in to the city on a Donkey. Five days later he becomes trapped in a mob and separated from his family by soldiers who are marching three men out the gate to be executed. At sunset as Daniel tries to find his way home he sees in the distance that the young rabbi and two others have been crucified on a hilltop. While he is running home in fear, Daniel meets a young man named John who begins to tell him all about Jesus. How will Daniel deal with his fears and doubts? Who has the answers for where his life? Washing Feet

Why foot washing? Couldn’t Jesus have suggested something easier like hand washing or face washing?

But Jesus not only commanded that we wash one another’s feet: He humbled Himself to wash ours first.

It is a strange thing how washing feet shows Jesus that we love him and the world that He loves them! He washes us to prepare our feet to walk onto heaven’s holy ground. We wash one another to prepare each other to walk into the world and share the love of Christ.

With Lent on the horizon this is a good time to ask, “Am I ready and willing to wash someone’s feet today?”

One spring day when our boys were small, I brought home a turtle I had found on the road. They excitedly helped as we made up a box with a water dish, grass, and stones. But our turtle wanted nothing to do with his new home. He never drank the water, nor ate a single piece of bread. Each day he grew weaker, until by the end of the week he lay motionless. We felt the best thing was to return him to the swamp where he could spend his final days in peace….
