When The Woodpecker Went to Work

The cardinals were singing
While the hawk sat on his perch
All the pigeons were just sleeping in
When woodpecker went to work!

And his tapping kept reminding me
I still have a job to do
And just sitting round and dreaming
Is not what God has planned to do

For even though He gives us song
And to rest awhile is fine
He still has more for us in store
To do in Summertime

For there’s a garden we must plant
With rows to weed and tend
And water with our tears and prayers
Till His kingdom come again

Jesus Watches Sparrows

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:29‭-‬31 ESV

It doesn’t get any more real than worshipping with my friends in memory care. No lights..no smoke…not even a microphone and yet there is the joy of Jesus reflected in their eyes. What a privilege it is to get to sing for them. If you want to serve in your community you won’t have to look far. Start visiting a friend or family member and ask God to use you to help feed a few other sparrows with the hope of Jesus Christ.

He Goes With Them

How do the birds know when to gather?
Who sets the alarm that they hear?
Why do they prepare when the wind still blows warm
To fly away year after year?

Who guides their course in the evening
And tells them the time that is best
How can they know that the place that is waiting
Has food and protection and rest?

Their designer who fashioned each feather
And has given a voice for their song
He watches them all
Even sees when one falls
And goes with them
On their journey so long
