A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. John 13:34 ESV
Sometimes we act as if Jesus had said, “This is a great suggestion, that you love one another.” But for those of us who call ourselves Christians, love is not one good option. It is the only option! This week at Life Care Center, we talked about God’s love, the prodigal son and his father. Then we ended with these two choruses, “This is My Commandment” and “Beloved, Let us Love One Another”. I hope as you watch this little video, that you enjoy singing along with us as much as I enjoyed singing with my friends at Life Care Center! Have a blessed weekend everybody!
Amen, Pete. Loving others like God does isn’t a suggestion—Jesus made it a mandate.
And, thanks to you, I’ve realized this for the first time.
You sing and play with such joy, Pastor Pete. And that Washburn really sounds good!
Nancy and I share again at a nursing home in two weeks.
Doesn’t he, David? I hope you and Nancy are blessed as much as a blessing you will be! I had to share!
Pete, I enjoyed this so much! Amen! It is not a suggestion! I pray each day, “Jesus, help me love everyone as you do.” I pray this all the time! The joy of the Lord oozes out of you to everyone. I’m so happy to “see” you in my feed. I didn’t know the first song, but I sang along. Smiling, I sang the 2nd song as I grew up singing it in church. My Grandpa (my Mom’s Dad) was born in 1910. He’s been gone since 1995. He made us girls get up and sing every Sunday. We grew up singing around the piano. I will forever sing of God’s praise and love! God bless you, Pete!
Even though I was already an adult, I learned most of my favorite choruses from a wonderful lady who came each Summer to do children’s crusades (remember them?) Her name was “Aunt Marge” and I can’t wait to thank her for all the joy her songs brought to me!
Aww, God bless Aunt Marge, too!
