I have so enjoyed following Sheila’s blog through this last year. Her perspectives on life and humorous side-notes of life in a small town in Italy have been refreshing and encouraging especially through the pandemic. Yesterday her perspectives on marriage really struck a note in my heart and were so excellently put together that I thought I would share her post with my readers today. I would add one more thing one gets out of marriage – the opportunity to learn and mature. Men and women are so different, and at times it seems it would be a lot easier living with someone that’s more like yourself. But these are times when God gives us the opportunity to practice understanding. And when we just can’t understand, we learn to practice acceptance and tolerance. Living with someone who is just like me might be easier, but I would never learn to listen to another perspective, reevaluate my own position, and reach an agreement that meets the needs of another. (I also would have to hire a lot of people to do things I’m just not skilled or knowledgeable enough to do.🙄)
