Remembering Jesus in Memory Care

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4 ESV

My favorite people to sing with are my Thursday morning friends in the memory care wing of Sunshine Christian Home. We had a great group this week and they totally loved singing “Up From the Grave He Arose!” In Psalm 27 David asks the Lord for the right to dwell in the House of the Lord –ALL- the days of his life. All our days includes when we are older, weaker and frail. Even in those years God loves coming alongside and delights in giving us a song! If you have not yet known the blessing of serving in Nursing Home Ministry you are missing out. There is a wonderful connection of the blessing that God wants to pass from one generation to the next! I hope you enjoy hearing their voices as we sing my absolute favorite Easter Hymn. Blessings all!

Go on ahead of me
I must lead softly on
The tender flock around me
Cannot run the whole day long

And if you climb to greater heights
We'll follow at a pace
That children and the lambs can walk
Just step by step in grace

Then together on that day
We'll meet you at the gate
For I must lead on softly
Until the break of day!

God’s Banqueting Table is in the Valley!

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows Psalm 23:5 ESV

None of us likes to walk through the valley – But the Good Shepherd not only goes with us. He also sets up a banqueting table for us there in the valley! I hope you enjoy our little time of sharing about that at Sunshine Christian Home. Listen carefully and you can hear the voices singing with me. It may be memory care, but they remember the words when we sing Surely Goodness and Mercy together!
