Listening to the Hawk

While on my morning walk I was amazed to see a hawk swoop down and sit on a fence post near me. He sat for a moment then called out three times and waited. Then his mate who was hidden in the trees on the opposite side of the field cried back the same. I’m not sure what their conversation was about but it reminded me of the verse from Psalms.

Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.
Psalm 42:7 NIV

For us it is God who is on the other side and He is calls out to us and then waits. If we sit quietly we will hear Him and His voice will awaken something deep within. Then the answer will grow in our own hearts until we call back to Him.

A Time to Fly!”

No matter what lies in front of us, the sun will rise. Whatever unknown blessings or dangers lie in our path God remains at the helm of the universe. Today is chosen by him as the perfect day to accomplish His purpose and will in some way. We must trust that He keeps all things running according to His schedule and that no matter how slow of fast things seem to be happening; they are all perfectly on time.

Trusting fully in His care does not keep us from challenges or storms but it gives us His peace and to carry us through. Fear shouts, “Get down, stay in hiding, you can not escape!”. Faith answers, “No! My God is in control!” then gives us wings to fly.

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV

What people think

Proverbs 29:19 The fear of man brings a snare but whoever trusts in the Lord will be safe

Sometimes we are so afraid of what people might think that we forget what God has promised. If we allow worries to lead us to low places there hidden on the forest floor is the snare of man. But when we trust in the promises of God He places us safely in the highest place!
