He Knows My Name!

But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. John 10:2-3 ESV As we approached, the little flock of sheep crossed the small gravel road and huddled together with […]

He Knows My Name!

I am reposting this from my nursing home blog as it seems to be something important to remember in the middle of the chaos. Jesus is calling our name and He knows right where we are.

God is working Zone

“Road construction next 10 miles” is a sign few of us like to see. Construction slows down traffic and forces us to concentrate on changes to our normal pattern in order to navigate our way safely. God also has construction zones in our lives. He is at work all the time and has a wonderful way of throwing us off our schedule and our plans in order to get us on His. Are we grumbling when our street is filled with pot holes and then complaining when they close the road to fix them? It can be much the same on our spiritual roads. Sometimes God closes things down and redirects our route because He has a better destination in store than the one on the way we were headed. So why not follow God’s detour and find out what amazing things lie ahead on the other side of His heavenly road construction?

Ready for Jesus

Saying, “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. Luke 19:30 ESV

If we could ask this humble donkey  about that day he would give us some good advice. First No man had ever sat on his back before Jesus. In other words he was reserving his forces to be used only for God. He wasn’t doing nothing he was preparing himself for God for that day. Waiting for the call of Jesus actively is like a car that is warming up in front of the house and ready for the master’s use.

Secondly our friend was ready to go. He didn’t pull back, run away or struggle against the strangers who came to take him. He happily and wisely submitted to the challenge and change that God had planned.

Lastly he was delighted with the role which Jesus gave him to play. His was not the place of worship leader, palm branch cutter or gate keeper. His place was to carry Jesus in such a gentle way that every humble heart would see Jesus and rejoice! Are you ready for whatever Jesus has for you today? KIMG2029.jpg
