Treasures

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Psalms 27:13

I dreamed I stood at heaven’s door

And heard its hinges creak

Around its frame a light shone out

As it opened for the King

“What have you brought?” He began to ask

“From your time on earth now through”

I wasn’t sure what I could say

I knew it had to be the truth

So I talked about my mission’s trips

And how each day I prayed

And how I often read His word

And all the tithes I gave

When I finally stopped to take a breath

He smiled and gently said

“Those were not really from your heart

They were just rituals instead”

“But the forgiveness you gave your parents

When their divorce left you alone

And the love you shared with strangers

When you opened up your home

And sorrowful repentant tears

And confessions in the night

Those are the things I treasure most

And are precious in my sight!”

So loved – The Loving God He came

To give the blind their sight

The world – Our world Creating God

Though Him we did not see

And to our loving great Creator God

Shepherds run and angels sing

He gave An ever Giving God

Came wrapped in Jesus Christ

For All – Our whosoever God who died to give us life

His  life – Our Never Dying God

Who opened to us Heaven

And there our whosoever God – Calls us to be with Him

Two Men and Two Boats

Two Men in Two Boats

To the sea one day two men went down

Paul as a prisoner and Jonah skipping town

“I’m out of here!” was all Jonah could say

Then he slept through the storm when he should have prayed

But prisoner Paul cried to God in his boat

Till an angel came down with a message of hope

Then with determination he encouraged his friends

Saying Jesus would keep them all safe in the end

It took a big fish to get Jonah to go

Tell others of mercy and God’s love for the world

But our friend Saint Paul shows us the right way

That if God sends the storm we must trust and obey!
