In His Image

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Genesis 1:26 NKJV

That we were made in God’s image is the first thing God said about us and yet the easiest to forget. Sin tempts us to mar that image, the world to doubt it and our failures to give up hope of attaining it. But Jesus came to restore us and to create through His forgiveness and healing a new person on the inside who will reflect the love and mercy of our wonderful God!

Odd Socks Day!

This year March 21 is Odd Socks day. Why not wear socks  (Not just black and brown) but of wildly different colors to support Down’s Syndrome children and their unique gifts. It is time for us to stand up and stand with them as the special gifts of God that they truly are. If you know someone with Down’s think of them as your odd socks day friend. A little baby in our church named Laura is my own odd socks day child. Who will yours be?

Psalm 139:13-14ESV  For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Welcoming Children

If the Bible doesn’t fit

Your life style choice today

And those pesky 10 commandments

Are definitely passe

Then who made all your rules

That tell you what’s PC?

And what is really good or bad

And says what has to be?

But if God is still creator

And Jesus is His Son

And the cross still takes away our sins

And heaven’s still to come

Then we’ve got hope

God is still good

He can forgive

our sin

He gave His life that we might live

And welcomes children in!
