After fingers of the rain reach down
Pulling frost out from the ground
And the cold relentless wind grows still
And I hear the gentle sound
Of a robin singing at my door
And distant thunder in the sky
Then I look out of my window
And watch children splashing by
Then I wonder at the changing world
As snowdrifts melt in Spring
And my sleeping faith sits up in bed
To hear the church bells ring
To Hear the Church Bells Ring

You’ve masterfully interwoven the physical awakening of spring to the spiritual awakening of Easter, Pastor Pete. Such a good song. Have not heard it in a while and remember singing it on Easter mornings at church as a child.
Thank you for your kind comments. I love listening, but don’t have the pipes to hit the high notes. Keith Green has another older version and more recently Matthew Ward.
Beautiful! I love your poetry! Blessings, Pastor Pete!
Thank you for the encouragement Cindy. Have a great day.
