God Still Has a Job For Us To Do

I Confess that this election has been tough to deal with, but moping isn’t going to help much and as I’ve been praying, God comforted my heart with four things from Matthew’s gospel.

Then he got into the boat and His disciples followed him. Matthew 8:23. Jesus is still in my boat! As the disciples traveled across the Sea of Galilee they got caught in a storm. But no matter that water was coming over the sides and they were exhausted they had the most important thing going for them. Jesus was still on board!

All the storms we face in life have one thing in common. We get afraid, but Jesus is not! The disciples went and woke him saying, “Lord save us! We’re going to drown!”

Jesus is still in control! He is not wondering what to do next! …Then he got up and rebuked the wind and the waves and it was completely calm. Matthew 8:26b

God still has a job for us to do on the other side of the storm! Matthew 8:28 when He arrived at the other side… If we will just stick close to Jesus we will discover that He always brings us to the other side and that when we get there he has something for us to do!

Prayer not Despair

Now is not the time for despair but for prayer. Though the forces of big abortion are partying now they appear to be back in the control again in Washington God remains in control. With the blood of the 62 million children whose lives were taken since Roe v Wade crying out to God, I would not trade places with the other side for all the money in the world. Our comfort is that God has loved every one of those forgotten little ones and has received them into His presence in heaven. He remains firmly in control and now it will be time for our own patience and love to be put to the test as we pray for our nation.

Tree of Calvary – Song

Change: especially radical change is something that most of us have a struggle with and with the election situation, lots of us have been stressed to the max . But all through these last couple of weeks of turmoil the Lord has been putting this song on my heart that deals with seeing His hand in the changing seasons of our lives. It has been a blessing to me as I have written it and then played it over and over letting the melody and message soak in. Now I pray that it may be a blessing to you all as well. God bless and have a wonderful week-end in the presence of our eternal and unchanging God!
