What do you say?

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Matthew 16:15

When we look out over the horizon of what everybody else thinks and what everybody else is saying, can we put our finger exactly on what it is we believe for ourselves? That is the point that Jesus was driving at when he asked the question to his disciples. Have you personally narrowed things down? Have you looked over everything and finally come to 2014-10-20_11-25-30any conclusion? Peter looked out and he suddenly knew. The Father spoke to His heart and showed him the true identity of the Jesus whom he had followed. But each of us must all pause and ponder the question individually: “Who do you say that He is”

Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.   R. H. Cornelius
