There are some small ponds so well hidden they seem to be only known to God, the snapping turtles and frogs.What shields this small slice of land from human invasion is not so much its remoteness but its quiet unique location. Standing just 100 feet away you would ever know of its existence. No matter the dryness of the season its natural springs constantly fill again and again this tiny corner of the lower field. Our quiet place where we rest in the presence of our Father needs to be the same. The press and constant noise of this world would crowd out and drain away our relationship with God if it could. We need to guard that quiet time and treasure the quiet Hiding place of His presencee because only there will we discover endless springs of heavenly water. This pond is a reminder to me of God’s invitation for a moment…the heavenly Selah Pause and consider deeply the value of what has just been spoken to our hearts.
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psalm 32:7
