Time to Praise!

…and all the trees of the field will clap their hands  Isaiah 52:12

Don’t you know it’s time to praise the Lord?

In the sanctuary of His Holy Spirit

So put your mind on Him

And let His praise begin

And the glory of the Lord will fill this place

As the seasons change most trees put away their Summer clothing and dress in their Fall colors. In our region, however there are some trees, most notably the Pin Oaks, that insist on holding  back a  third of their dry brown leaves all through the Winter. They may be pretending it is still Summer but they aren’t fooling anyone! In our own lives as well, when the season changes we can hold back and complain or we can remember that it is always time to praise the Lord! We can put away our Summer clothing and dress with the brief brighter colors of Fall, or we can hold onto our brown leaves complaining all through the Winter. Praise helps us allow the changes to come giving a place for God’s glory to be seen as a reflection of heaven even as Summer fades and frost of Fall comes sweeping by.

My wife and I serve as members of a worship team at a multicultural church. Our members are from Brazil, Nepal and the U.S.. Because of the many languages and cultures in our local body we face unique challenges, such as how many songs will we do in English today? What new songs can we use in either language that are simple enough for the people to sing. The songs, the devotions and insights here are a small portion of some of the ways God is leading us as we push towards the goal. I pray that these will be both a blessing and an encouragement for those of you who may pass by Praise 2 Worship.
